Key In Corridor

The Key in Corridor COGO feature allows you to create and edit roadway designs directly within Siteworks. However, this functionality continues to use the traditional PRO roadway format and does not create VCL corridor designs.

PRO File Creation Only

When using the Key in Corridor COGO feature:

• Roadway designs are created as PRO files.
• Existing PRO roadways can be edited.
• The output remains fully compatible with existing Siteworks roadway workflows.

Note: Key In Corridor does not generate VCL corridor surfaces or VCL corridor template surfaces.

VCL Corridor Templates

VCL corridor template surfaces are created in Trimble Business Center and can be used within Siteworks for measuring, stakeout, and design review.

However, Siteworks cannot:

• Create VCL corridor template surfaces
• Edit VCL corridor template surfaces
• Modify corridor templates contained within a VCL file

Any changes to VCL corridor templates must be completed in Trimble Business Center and then re-exported to the VCL file.

Platform Support

Windows

The Key in Corridor feature is fully supported on Windows devices and can be used to create and edit PRO roadway files.

Android

The following functionality is not available on Android devices:

• Key In Corridor
• Creating PRO files
• Editing PRO files

Android users can work with existing supported design files but cannot create roadway designs using the Key In Corridor workflow.

Best Practices

✅ Use Key in Corridor when creating simple roadway designs directly in the field.
✅ Use Trimble Business Center when creating or modifying VCL corridor template surfaces.
✅ Choose PRO roadways for field-created corridor designs.
✅ Verify the required design format before starting a project.
✅ If working on Android, prepare roadway files in Trimble Business Center or on a Windows controller before going to site.
