The Point Manager allows you to view, search, add, edit, and delete points within the currently loaded work order. It provides an easy way to manage survey, control, and stakeout points directly in the field.
Accessing Point Manager
- From the Home screen, select Data Management.
- Tap Point Manager.
- Choose Point Manager from the available options.
Other available options include:
- View/Edit Control Points
- Import Control File
The Point Manager displays a complete list of points contained in the active work order.
Finding Points
Use the tools at the top of the Point Manager window to quickly locate points.
Search
Search for points by:
- Point Name
- Point Code
Sort
Sort the point list by selecting any column heading.
Filter
Filter the list to display specific point types only.
Note: Office control points marked with an asterisk (*) cannot be modified.
Adding a Point
Select Add to create a new point.
The following point types can be added:
- 1D Control Points
- 2D Control Points
- 3D Control Points
- 2D Stakeout Points
- 3D Stakeout Points
Enter the required point information and save the new point.
Editing a Point
To modify an existing point:
- Select the required point from the list.
- Tap Edit.
Depending on the point type, you can update:
- Point Name
- Point Code
- Elevation
- Antenna/Target Height
Use the drop-down arrow beside the height field to switch between:
- Elevation
- Antenna/Target Height
Measured Points
For measured points:
- Northing and Easting values cannot be changed.
- Elevation and point details can be updated where applicable.
Keyed-In Points
For non-measured points that were manually entered:
- Northing and Easting values can be edited.
FXL Codes
If an FXL file and the Advanced Measurement Module are available:
- An FXL code can be assigned to a point.
- Existing FXL attributes cannot be edited directly.
- To replace FXL information, select Select FXL Code and assign a new code.
Deleting a Point
To permanently remove a point:
- Select the point from the list.
- Tap Delete.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
Important: Deleted points cannot be recovered unless they exist in a backup or are re-imported.
Navigating Between Points
While editing points, use:
- Previous to move to the previous point in the list.
- Next to move to the next point in the list.
The order follows the current sorting applied in the Point Manager.
If changes have not been saved, you will be prompted to save them before moving to another point.
Viewing Point Information
Select the Point Information tab to view detailed information about the selected point.
Depending on the point type, information may include:
- Coordinates
- Elevation
- Point Code
- Measurement Details
- Creation Information
- Associated Attributes
Tips
✅ Use search and filters to quickly locate points in large projects.
✅ Review point details in the Point Information tab before making changes.
✅ Protect important control points by verifying coordinates before editing.
✅ Regularly back up project data before deleting points.
