Map Options: Measure Tab

The Measure tab allows you to control which measured data is displayed on the map. This is the default tab that opens whenever you select Map Options. Use these settings to customise the map view and display only the information relevant to your current task, helping to improve visibility and reduce on-screen clutter.

1. Point Names

Displays the name of each measured point on the map.

2. Point Elevations

Displays the elevation value for each measured point on the map.

3. Control Points

Shows all control points within the current map view.

4. Measured Surface

Displays measurements that have been recorded as a surface.

5. Use Defined FXL Colour

Displays FXL measured lines using the colour assigned to the corresponding FXL code.

Note: This option was introduced in Siteworks v1.75.

6. Coverage Grid

Displays a colour-coded coverage grid that compares measured data or design surfaces. Colours indicate cut, fill, or in-tolerance conditions, making it easier to visualise grade differences across the site.

The Coverage Grid includes the following display modes:

Cut/Fill: Measured

Displays a live coverage grid based on measured points compared to the primary design surface selected in the project.

• Red indicates cut.
• Blue indicates fill.
• Green indicates points within tolerance.
• If multiple measured points exist within a grid cell, the largest cut/fill value determines the displayed colour.

This view automatically updates as new measurements are collected.

Cut/Fill: Surface A-B

Displays a static cut/fill comparison between two design surfaces.

• Surface A is the primary design surface selected when opening the project.
• Surface B is the secondary surface selected through Home > Settings > Second Surface.
• This display does not change when new measurements are recorded.
• Only existing design surfaces within the project can be compared.

This option is useful for comparing original and revised design models before commencing work on site.

Elevation

Displays relative elevations using varying shades of blue.

• Lighter blue shades represent lower elevations.
• Darker blue shades represent higher elevations.
• Colour variations are automatically scaled between the lowest and highest measured elevations.
• The display updates automatically as new elevation measurements are recorded.

This view is useful for identifying high and low areas across the site at a glance.

Grid Size

Allows you to adjust the coverage grid cell size to suit site requirements.

Larger grid sizes provide a broader overview, while smaller grid sizes provide greater detail when reviewing measured data.

7. Point Codes

Displays the point code assigned to each measured point.

8. Point Cut/Fill

Displays cut/fill values for each measured point relative to the active design surface.

9. Stakeout Points

Shows stakeout points on the map.

10. Measured Feature

Displays measurements that have been recorded as site features, such as break lines, utility features, or other coded field data.

SITECH Tip: Use the Measure tab filters to display only the information required for your workflow. Turning off unnecessary layers can improve map readability and make it easier to review measured data in the field.
