Calibration/Coordinate System Files (.dc, .cal)

Coordinate system and calibration files can be added to a WorksOS project either automatically from Trimble Business Center (TBC) or through manual import.

Automatic Publishing from TBC

Coordinate system and calibration files can be published directly to WorksOS using the Publish to WorksOS command in Trimble Business Center (TBC).

Manual Import

Alternatively, coordinate system and calibration files can be added when:

• Creating a new project, or

• Editing an existing project from the Config Files tab.

WorksOS supports the following file formats:

• .dc

• .cal

Best Practice

To ensure accurate positioning and data alignment across the project, use the same coordinate system or calibration file that is deployed to the field devices and machine control systems collecting data.

Why It Matters

The coordinate system or calibration file defines how project data is positioned geographically. It can influence:

• Machine productivity data

• Design surfaces

• Linework

• Alignments

• Surveyed surfaces

• Other project files imported into WorksOS

Using an incorrect or different coordinate system file may result in project data appearing in the wrong location, causing inconsistencies between field data and office workflows.

Important: Always verify that the coordinate system or calibration file used in WorksOS matches the file used by field devices and machines to ensure accurate reporting, analysis, and visualisation.
