EZ Level provides a quick and simple way to display elevations and cut/fill values relative to a user-defined benchmark. Similar to a traditional laser level workflow, it allows you to determine grade differences without requiring a site calibration for GNSS or a total station setup on a known control point.
This is a display-only feature. No points or measurements are stored as part of the EZ Level workflow.
EZ Level is available when using both GNSS and Total Station equipment.
When to Use EZ Level
EZ Level is ideal when you need to:
- Establish an arbitrary benchmark elevation.
- Check cut/fill values relative to a target elevation.
- Perform simple grade checks without a calibrated site.
- Replicate a laser level workflow using GNSS or a total station.
Open EZ Level
You can access EZ Level in either of the following ways:
Option 1
Tap the Measure Mode icon on the right side of the main screen and select EZ Level.
Option 2
- Tap Home.
- Select Measure.
- Tap EZ Level.
The EZ Level Settings screen opens.
Configure EZ Level
Enter a Benchmark Elevation
The benchmark elevation is the reference elevation from which all cut/fill values are calculated.
You can:
- Enter an arbitrary benchmark elevation manually.
- Select a known control point elevation from the control point list.
Enter the EZ Level Elevation
The EZ Level Elevation is the target elevation you want to compare against.
For example:
- Benchmark elevation = 100.000
- Desired finished floor elevation = 103.500
To check grade relative to the finished floor:
- Position the rod on the benchmark.
- Enter 100.000 as the benchmark elevation.
- Enter 103.500 as the EZ Level elevation.
- Measure the benchmark.
The software then calculates and displays cut/fill values relative to the target elevation of 103.500.
Understanding the Display
The EZ Level screen shows:
- Current Elevation in the centre of the display.
- Cut Value on one arrow.
- Fill Value on the opposite arrow.
As the rod moves around the site, the display updates in real time, showing the amount of cut or fill required to reach the specified EZ Level elevation.
This provides a simple visual indication of whether a location is above or below the target level.
Modify EZ Level Settings
To change:
- Benchmark Elevation
- EZ Level Elevation
- Benchmark Measurement
Tap SETTINGS from the EZ Level screen and update the required values.
Tip: EZ Level is particularly useful for finished floor checks, pad preparation, concrete pours, and general grade verification when you only need relative elevations rather than a fully calibrated site setup.
