The Antenna Height (GNSS) and Target Height (Total Station) settings are critical for ensuring accurate elevation measurements in Siteworks. The entered height is automatically applied to measurements and is subtracted from the antenna or prism elevation to calculate the correct ground position.
Change the Antenna or Target Height
You can quickly update the antenna or target height by selecting the height value displayed in the Information Bar.
If the antenna or target height is not currently visible, enable it by navigating to:
Home > Settings > Info Bar/Panel > Information Bar
and selecting either:
- Ant Ht (GNSS Antenna Height)
- Tar Ht (Target Height)
Using a Quick Release
For compatible GNSS receivers, Siteworks allows you to specify whether a Quick Release is being used.
When entering the antenna height:
- Enable the Quick Release option if fitted.
- Enter only the height to the bottom of the quick release.
- Siteworks automatically applies the additional quick release height.
When a quick release is enabled, an icon is displayed on the map screen to indicate that the quick release offset is being applied.
Important: Do not include the quick release height in your rod height measurement. Siteworks automatically accounts for this offset.
Audit Trail and Logging
Any changes made to:
- Antenna Height
- Target Height
- Quick Release settings
are automatically recorded in the Siteworks log file.
You can review these changes through:
Home > Data Management > Log
or by viewing the task log within the current Work Order.
This provides a useful audit trail for troubleshooting and quality assurance.
Correcting Rod Heights for Existing Points
If a point has been measured using an incorrect antenna or target height, the rod height can be adjusted later within Point Manager.
This applies to points measured using:
- GNSS receivers
- Universal Total Stations (UTS)
Updating the rod height in Point Manager allows the point data to be corrected without remeasuring the point in the field.
SITECH Tip: Always verify the antenna or target height before starting a measurement or stakeout task. Incorrect rod heights are one of the most common causes of elevation discrepancies and can affect the accuracy of all subsequently measured points.
